Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization with a worldwide membership of 1.8 million. The KC's were founded by Blessed Fr. Michael J. McGivney in New Haven, Connecticut in 1882. The St. Patrick Parish Council was founded in 2008.
As a member of the Knights of Columbus you and your family enjoy many privileges, including eligibility to join the Knights of Columbus top-ranked life insurance program, 12 free issues annually of Columbia magazine, the world's largest Catholic family magazine, and many more spiritual and personal benefits.
Our purpose today is to support those who most need our help: vocations to the priesthood, widows, orphans, special needs, and the most helpless of all, the unborn. Catholic men doing charitable works define the essence of what it is to be a Knight. To say "Yes" to being a Knight is helping do God's work. The organization provides members with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, their communities, families and young people.
One of our more popular offerings is the “KC Cans4Life”. Tired of recycling bottles and cans? Let the Knights recycle for you and contribute to a great cause. St. Pats Knights of Columbus is collecting $.05 redemption cans and bottles every 3rd Saturday of the month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the west side of the church in Fr. Troy's driveway/garage (behind the Day Chapel). Proceeds benefit "Right to Life" organizations in Johnson County. No need to sort. Drop off a bag or box of cans and bottles and the Knights will sort for you. Ask your relatives, friends, and neighbors to contribute their cans and bottles!
Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to practicing Catholic men in union with the Holy See, who are at least 18 years old. A practicing Catholic is one who lives up to the Commandments of God and the precepts of the Church. Applications for membership in the Knights are available from any member of the Knights of Columbus.
