Welcome Letter from Fr. Rudy
It is a true joy knowing about your interest in St. Patrick ChurchJ! After thirteen years as pastor, I can safely say the people of St. Patrick are a welcoming bunch truly engaged in their faith and their love of God!
Our beautiful church building and grounds came about after the old church was destroyed in the Holy Thursday Tornado of April 13, 2006. We dedicated the new St. Patrick on November 29, 2009 with the idea St. Patrick would be a consecrated place for the worship of God, the education and socialization of people, and the love and service of our neighbor and community – I think we are fulfilling all these.
Our members come from every walk of life, culture and language group, and what unites us, is our Catholic faith and the fact that we are all children of God the Father who desire to belong to a community of faith that values life, and the presence of Christ and the Holy Spirit at work in the hearts and minds of God’s people.
The heart of our community is of course the Holy Mass, (see our Mass schedule) and, as a vibrant parish in the Iowa City – Coralville area, we offer any number of opportunities to learn, grow and experience the Catholic faith in community throughout the year. We are blessed to have:
So, welcome to St. Patrick! We are happy to have you share your faith journey with us. Many blessings to you and yours!
A few more notes about our Parish...
Welcome to St. Patrick Catholic Church of Iowa City. As many of you know, our beloved church was destroyed by a tornado on Holy Thursday evening, 2006. Our congregation's tremendous faith and efforts have led us to a new beginning. On November 29, 2009 Bishop Martin Amos dedicated our new church building at 4330 St. Patrick Drive. Please join our active parish community for a friendly and welcoming Saturday afternoon or Sunday Mass. To join us, travel east from Scott Boulevard on Lower West Branch Road.
St. Patrick is a faithful, multi-cultural Catholic parish. The Holy Spirit leads us to love God, grow spiritually and serve our neighbor.
Welcome! We are glad you are here!
