Our faith journey begins with our baptism. In this ministry we welcome parents and their growing family into our community and assist them in expanding their understanding of the baptismal commitment and liturgy.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated after Mass on weekends except during Lent.

Parents must be registered and active members of the parish. Parents are required to attend one instructional session, ideally before the child is born.

Classes are held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00pm in the Parlor.

Please contact the office at 319-337-2856 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to register for the next class.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered Saturdays from 3pm - 4pm and by appointment with the pastor.  Communal Reconciliation is held during Advent and Lent.

The next milestone in our faith journey is the reception of the First Reconciliation. We guide second graders and their families as the children prepare to receive God's Gift of forgiveness through Reconciliation for the first time.

First Reconciliation classes begin in the fall. Parents are urged to contact the office at 319-337-2856 or This email address is being protected from spambots. Preparation for engaged couples who are registered members of the parish begins with a visit to the pastor at least one year prior to the proposed wedding date. The marriage preparation process is very important as it helps the young couple know their strengths and areas for growth as they move toward their lifetime commitment. At least one member of the couple shall be a registered member of the parish. Additional information will be given to the couple after meeting with the pastor.

Men become priests today as always -- by the Sacrament of Holy Orders -- the laying on of the bishop's hands and prayer. Through this sacrament Christ changes the man internally, giving him the powers of the priesthood. There are different orders or degrees in the priesthood: a deacon, a priest, and a bishop. Priests and bishops are not married, although there are some priests who are ministers from another faith tradition who join the Catholic Church and want to serve as a priest. If you have any questions or interested in the priesthood, please call the Church Office, or:
